This 6-day Japan itinerary combines vibrant city experiences, cultural exploration, and iconic natural sights with festive New Year celebrations. Upon arrival in Tokyo, you will be transferred to your hotel for leisure and relaxation. Day 2 features a full-day private Tokyo city tour, including Senso-ji Temple, Nakamise Street, Tokyo Skytree, and the Imperial Palace, culminating in the Odaiba Rainbow Fireworks and New Year festivities at Tokyo Tower. On Day 3, a private excursion to Mt. Fuji and Hakone includes a visit to Fuji’s 5th Station, a scenic Lake Ashi cruise, and midnight New Year’s fireworks at Hakone Shrine. On Day 4, travel to Osaka for a city tour highlighting Dotonbori, Umeda Sky Building, Osaka Aquarium, and Osaka Castle. Day 5 explores Kyoto and Nara, including the Joya-no-kane bell-ringing ceremony, Kiyomizudera Temple, Nara Park, and Todai-ji Temple. Upon arrival at Tokyo’s Narita or Haneda Airport (time to be advised), you will be met by your private driver. A private vehicle will transfer you to your hotel, the Hilton Tokyo (King Room – 30 sqm) or a similar property. After check-in, which begins at 3:00 PM, you will have the remainder of the day at leisure to freshen up and relax after your journey. Dinner will be on your own. After breakfast at the hotel, meet your English-speaking guide (ESG) in the lobby to begin a full-day private city tour of Tokyo. The tour includes a visit to Senso-ji Temple and the Nakamise Shopping Street, known as Tokyo's oldest temple area. You will also visit the Tokyo Skytree (access to the 350-meter observation deck) and make a photo stop at the Imperial Palace. Lunch will be on your own. In the evening, enjoy the Odaiba Rainbow Fireworks at 7:00 PM, followed by a sparkling New Year’s Eve night around Tokyo Tower. You will then be dropped off at your hotel. Dinner will be on your own. Following breakfast at the hotel, meet your ESG in the lobby and depart for a full-day private tour of Mt. Fuji and Hakone. Your journey includes a visit to Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station, located at an altitude of 2,300 meters (7,546 feet) above sea level. Afterward, continue to Lake Ashi, where you will enjoy a serene cruise with views of the lake and Mt. Fuji in the background. Lunch will be on your own. In the evening, celebrate the new year by witnessing the fireworks display at Hakone Shrine at midnight on January 1st. Return to your hotel in Tokyo. Dinner will be on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel in Tokyo.
After breakfast and hotel checkout, you will transfer to Osaka (details of transfer not specified, assumed to be by private vehicle or train). On arrival in Osaka, check in to Hilton Osaka (King Room – 30 sqm) or a similar hotel. Meet your ESG at the hotel lobby to begin a full-day private tour of the city. Highlights include tasting traditional New Year’s toshikoshi soba at Dotonbori Shopping Street, visiting the Floating Garden Observatory at the Umeda Sky Building, exploring the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, and touring the iconic Osaka Castle. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel in Osaka.
After breakfast at the hotel, meet your ESG in the lobby and depart for a full-day combined tour of Kyoto and Nara. In Kyoto, experience the traditional Joya-no-kane bell-ringing ceremony at Chion-in Temple, a New Year’s custom. Visit Kiyomizudera Temple, also known as the “Pure Water Temple.” Lunch will be on your own. In the afternoon, proceed to Nara for sightseeing, including visits to Nara Park, known for its freely roaming deer, and Todai-ji Temple, which houses the Great Buddha. After the tour, return to your hotel in Osaka. Dinner will be on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel in Osaka.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then check out. You will be transferred by private vehicle to Kansai International Airport (KIX) for your departure flight. The tour concludes as you board your flight, bringing home cherished memories from your journey across Japan.
